SINGAPORE, July 3, 2009–Stephane Faggianelli, President of Wunderman Asia announces several developments across Asia.
“The end of 2008 and first half of 2009 have been very positive for Wunderman across Asia and our focused efforts over the last two years have been paying off. Since the beginning of the year, we have not only deepened our key client relationships with Microsoft, Ford and Diageo but also on boarded Nokia across 14 Asian markets and initiated new developments. Our expanded digital, CRM and analytics capabilities combined with a truly connected network and extended regional coverage, makes us a unique player when it comes to global and regional clients across Asia”.

New Managing Director in India
Shilpa Swaroop has been appointed Managing Director of our dedicated operations in Delhi and Bangalore servicing Microsoft and Nokia. “We have had tremendous developments in India since the launch of our dedicated offices for international and network clients. Shilpa Swaroop, is leading the next development staged with the expansion of our digital, social media and CRM capabilities”, said Stephane Faggianelli. Shilpa Swaroop comes to Wunderman from Grey Group Bangkok where she was COO. Shilpa spent more than 14 years with WPP in Asia and previous experiences include roles at Bates Singapore, JWT Hong Kong/Singapore, Batey in Singapore and DY&R in Bombay.
New Managing Director in South Korea
Jong-Hwa Yoo has been appointed Managing Director of Wunderman in South Korea. Stephane Faggianelli commented “After successfully building a CRM and digital team in Seoul, Evelyn Kim, General Manager has now relocated to Wunderman San Francisco. I am thrilled to welcome Jong-Hwa Yoo to lead our Seoul office. His digital experience and deep connections in market will give us a strong competitive edge”. Jong-Hwa Yoo joins from D.I.G Communication – a leading digital agency in Korea – where he was CEO. Previous roles include senior positions at Metawise, Bosung Apparel and Samsung Electronics.
Regional Lead for Team Nokia in Singapore
Liam Winston re-joined Wunderman Singapore in January as regional lead for Team Nokia. “We are glad to welcome Liam back into the Wunderman family. Liam is one of the best client focused professionals in the industry. He is a great addition to our growing operation in Singapore and will become a core part of our regional office with Michel Mommejat and Nimesh Desai”, said Stephane Faggianelli. Liam Winston was previously General Manager at Proximity Hong Kong and has extensive regional experience with Bates and Y&R in Singapore, Wunderman Sydney as well as other roles in Hong Kong and Europe.
Shanghai
Om Zho has joined Wunderman Shanghai as Senior Creative Director. Prior joining Wunderman, Om Zho worked at Wieden & Kennedy Shanghai and was also co-founder and VP of Creative & Development at Ato Ato Integrated, a Shanghai-based integrated production agency. One of Om Zho’ key achievements has been his involvement in the creation and production of China’s most famous reality program “Wo Xing Wo Show”. According to Stephane Faggianelli, “Our office in Shanghai has continuously grown over the last two years and adding a creative caliber like Om compliments our strategy to have a strong CRM and digital offering in Shanghai.”
Indonesia
In April 2009, Wunderman launched a digital operation in Jakarta. Key team members include Agung Rahadian as Digital Strategic Planner, Miranti Daniar as Interactive Manager and Ardy Muswardi as Producer. Michel Mommejat, Regional Network Development Director, leads the operation from Singapore regional headquarters. ”As part of our strategy to extend our coverage in South East Asia, we are thrilled to enter such a dynamic and high potential market. Indonesia is a focus for us in the next year”, said Stephane Faggianelli.
South East Asia and Bangladesh
Wunderman already reinforced its digital teams in Vietnam and Philippines to support Nokia developments in these markets and is also launching a digital offering in Bangladesh in July 2009.
Stephane Faggianelli added, “All our recent developments are a demonstration of our ambition to be a digital and CRM powerhouse in this part of the world. In context of tough business environment, our growth this year has been phenomenal to date – especially in Japan, Greater China, India and Singapore. Our focus remains on digital solutions with emphasis on social networking and analytics. Most of our offices currently are in hiring mode, especially in Tokyo, Beijing, Delhi and Jakarta. In addition to Microsoft, Nokia and Diageo, we plan to keep our momentum on the new business front in the second half of the year with new developments in the healthcare and FMCG industries”.
