Weber Shandwick The Official PR Sponsor For Forbes Global CEO Conference 2010
SYDNEY, 13 May 2010 – Forbes has named Weber Shandwick as the official public relations counsel for the Forbes Global CEO Conference, which will be held in Sydney, Australia on 28-29 September, 2010.
Weber Shandwick was selected after producing successful results for the Forbes Global CEO Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2009 and previously in Australia in 2005. Now in its tenth year, the prestigious Forbes Global CEO Conference will gather under one roof some 400 of the world’s most influential captains of industry and thought-leaders to share insights on the best strategies to navigate the post-crisis economic landscape and seize new opportunities in volatile times.
“We are delighted to stage the Forbes Global CEO Conference in Sydney,” said William Adamopoulos, President and Publisher of Forbes Asia. “We are also delighted to continue our strategic partnership with Weber Shandwick. This will be the fifth time we have worked together on this conference, including 2005 in Sydney and last year in Kuala Lumpur. Weber Shandwick has established a strong track record in helping to leverage this unique platform.”
Among the impressive line-up of business leaders confirmed as speakers are Steve Forbes, chairman and CEO, Forbes, editor-in-chief, Forbes magazine; Andrew Forrest, chief executive, Fortescue Metals Group; Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, president and CEO, Nokia Corporation; Anthony Pratt, global chairman, Visy; Wilbur Ross, Jr., CEO, WL Ross & Co.; Eizo Kobayashi, chairman, ITOCHU Corporation; and Liang Xinjun, vice chairman and CEO, Fosun International Ltd.
Hosted by the Australian Government and the New South Wales Government, this year’s conference theme is ‘Full Sail Ahead’, which likens today’s business leader to a master mariner, whose challenge is to outwit the forces of uncertain economic conditions, and whose determination is to capture new growth prospects through the power of innovation to create a prosperous and sustainable future.
Emma-Jane Granleese, managing director of Weber Shandwick, Australia commented, “As we accelerate out of the financial challenges of 2009, this year’s Forbes conference will be one of the most carefully watched initiatives of its kind. All of us at Weber Shandwick are incredibly proud that the Forbes team have again put their confidence in our people, our knowledge and our expertise in managing projects of this complexity and relevance.
“Together with the depth of our on-the-ground corporate practice based here in Sydney, Weber Shandwick’s unrivalled integration across our regional and global network allows us to bring together the best knowledge and experience to this high profile, global event.”
