McCann’s Nicole V. Cramer Honored at Harlem YMCA’s 46th Achievers in Industry Awards Ceremony
New York, NY – March 28, 2016 – Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG) announced that Nicole V. Cramer, Senior Vice President at McCann Worldgroup, is being honored at the 46th Annual National Salute to Achievers in Industry Awards Ceremony hosted by the Harlem YMCA. The proceeds from the event support the Harlem Achievers in Industry Corporate Scholarship Program as well as the Mentoring and Corporate Internship Program.
In her role at McCann Worldgroup, Ms. Cramer works across departments including account management, strategy, creative and digital to lead key initiatives at the company. She formed and led the first global creative excellence department for five years and built the agency’s first global creative asset management system.
From 2011 through 2014, Cramer was the Co-chair of IPG’s Black Employee Network which strives to facilitate the success of IPG’s Black employees by enriching their professional lives, creating connections, promoting environments that welcome, value and leverage diversity. She is a frequent mentor to young employees and a regular panelist at agency diversity events.
Ms. Cramer is very involved in community efforts outside of the workplace as well. She is on the Board of Afrika Tikkun USA, an organization that works with at-risk youth in South Africa. She is also a member of the President’s Council of Cornell Women, and on the Advisory Council of She’s the First, which sponsors girls’ education in low-income countries. She is also the Founder of My Grandma Baked a Cookie, a social enterprise being built around communities of bakers and in support of first-time female entrepreneurs.
“We are very proud to once again have one of our own honored as a YMCA Achiever in Industry,” commented Heide Gardner, Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer, IPG. “Nicole has made tremendous contributions to both our IPG community and the larger global community and this is a very well-deserved honor. What’s more, we are happy to continue to support the Harlem YMCA and its important programs via this initiative,” she continued.
“For more than four decades, our annual National Salute to Achievers in Industry gala has been instrumental to our work nurturing future leaders among the youth and teens of New York City’s historic and diverse Harlem community,” said John Rappaport, Senior Executive Director of the Harlem YMCA. “We are pleased to honor Nicole Cramer as a distinguished guest at this year’s Achievers in Industry Award Ceremony,” he continued.
To date, the YMCA’s Corporate Scholarship Program has awarded 361 scholarships, valued at more than $1.6 million to supplement educational costs. The YMCA’s Mentor program connects motivated New York City teens with successful professional adults, aiming to realize the full potential of young people through a variety of academic and social resources and experiences. The Corporate Internship program offers its college scholarship recipients a paid experience that includes industry-specific exposure and challenging project assignments that provide relevant training to move forward in pursuing a career.
